Interview Mastery - One-on-One Interview Skills Coaching

Description

Interview Mastery is our interview skills coaching program, designed to give you practical, hands-on coaching and interview practice to give you the control and confidence you need to impress employers from the moment you step in the door!

Whether you are a new starter in the job market, or even an experienced candidate, interviews can be a very nerve-racking experience for many people. And more and more, employers are looking for candidates who can ably convey and communicate not only their knowledge and experience, but also confidence, initiative, team-work, the ability to work under pressure, and other key soft skills that are vital to being able to work effectively in today's fast moving world.

Because of this, many interviews are often already decided in the first 5 mins of the interview, even before you start talking about your education and skills!

Fortunately, even if you are not gifted at interviews (and many people are not), the good news is that, interviewing is a skill that, with practice and experience, can be greatly improved. With Interview Mastery, we can help you fast track your learning and give you the confidence to conduct memorable interviews.

Don't let those opportunities pass you by! Get the job and the pay you deserve!

Lap-Tin's Useful Tips & Advice
Remember your audience - An interview's primary purpose is to give the interviewer an opportunity to assess your fit for the position at hand. So whilst it might be tempting to tell your life's story, you'll find it much more effective for the employer to focus on experiences that have a direct relation to what the employer is looking for. Be careful not to take the bait with open-ended questions and talk yourself out of a job.
Prepare talking points - Before you go into an interview, go through your resume and pick 1-2 projects or achievements from each job that you can talk to. Rehearse them with yourself or with a friend before the interview so that the examples are already fresh in your mind when the interviewer inevitably asks you about them.
Know your resume - Nothing destroys your credibility like not knowing key details within your own resume. If you have trouble remembering specific examples in your resume, consider practicising them beforehand, or removing them from your resume entirely.
Dress for success - Dressing appropriately for the role is crucial. Would you expect to see a taxi driver in speedos? Or a plumber fixing the drain while in a suit? If you don't look the part, then interviewers will have a hard time believing that you can play the part.
Confidence (and conviction) is everything - Ultimately, the interviewer wants to believe that you are the person that can do the job. Your job is to convince them. If you can speak confidently and with conviction about who you are and what you want to do, then you will naturally come across as a strong, impressive candidate. This can only happen, however, if you are clear with yourself about where you want to go with your career, and what you can bring to the table. (Our coaching, likewise, always starts with your career objectives in mind.)
